Event Details

For the first time in over thirty years, Japan is experiencing positive interest rates, rising prices, and increasing salaries. Simultaneously, the Nikkei stock index and property prices have reached levels not seen since the late 1980s.

Japan is now positioned with new clarity and influence on the geopolitical stage, breaking with its post-war security doctrine. Global forces, catalysed by the COVID-19 crisis, are putting long-term equilibria under pressure for change. So, what is happening? What forces are driving this change? What challenges and opportunities lie ahead for Japan? And how does this open up opportunities for Swedish companies in Japan and the APAC region? In this Market Outlook, Carsten Grönblad, Sweden's Trade Commissioner to Japan, and Country Manager at Business Sweden, will share his expertise and address these questions.

The upcoming World EXPO 2025 in Osaka will be a significant platform for Japan and the world to showcase new solutions for betterment of society. For Swedish companies, it presents a unique opportunity to align their vision and leadership with future design initiatives. Mr. Grönblad will outline opportunities for Swedish companies at the World EXPO in Osaka and discuss possibilities to join and participate in high-level delegations.
