Event Details

The remote office was a lifesaver for both employees and employers during covid - but beyond the pandemic, opinions diverge. Does a remote office set-up boost productivity and increase well-being for employees thanks to reduced commuting time and enhanced flexibility? Or does it instead create isolation, communication difficulties, and the blurring of boundaries? Fast forward to 2023, some favour the remote office, while others would rather see their teams back in the office for more effective supervision. The question is, is the return to the office truly inevitable? For one company, the answer is crystal clear: The remote office is not only here to stay, it is evolving into an integral and enduring facet of the modern work landscape, reshaping the way we collaborate, innovate, and redefine the traditional boundaries of professional engagement.

Join us for this breakfast talk where Nellie Wartoft, Founder and CEO of SwedCham member Tigerhallwill give her view on the remote office. Tigerhall is a social learning platform which last year had a record breaking year of 559% growth and now boasts 17% of the world's Fortune100 companies as clients with users in 32 countries. The company is a fully remote functioning company with 75 employees across 16 locations globally - the US, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Australia. Employees can live and work anywhere they like - there are only two requirements: 1) You manage your time zone and work the hours required to collaborate with your team in their permanent locations; 2) You have a stable internet connection.

Ms Wartoft will talk about how to succeed with a remote organisation, touching upon areas such as:

  • Hiring for a remote organization - and selecting the right leaders and managers for a remote set-up
  • Remote onboarding done right - personalised journey and intentional social connections
  • Building a remote company culture - without the happy hour Zoom games
  • Getting collaboration and communication right - leveraging the right platforms for transparency, efficiency and productivity
  • Managing productivity, time zone challenges, team psychology and morale
  • Legal and HR administration with employer on record set-up in different countries (if of interest).

The conversation with Nellie Wartoft will be led by Ricky Foo, Partner and Board & CEO Practice APAC Lead, MU / Mercuri Urval.
