Market Outlook: Thailand

Thailand continues to present promising opportunities for Swedish industries as the second largest economy in ASEAN with a population of around 70 million.

The newly elected Thai government, as of September 2023, has pledged to continue efforts in green transition by modernising the energy sector, addressing energy efficiency in manufacturing, and taking a firm stand on sustainable public transport and EV infrastructure deployment in Thailand. The progress in green development creates promising opportunities for Swedish companies looking to expand into the Thai market.

The Thai government, alongside various industries, is actively pursuing solutions to improve efficiency and attain more sustainable outcomes. Swedish companies specializing in these domains are poised to be well received, playing a pivotal role in fostering the sustainable growth of Thailand. Presently, approximately 90 companies either originating from or associated with Sweden are actively engaged in operations within the country.

In this online presentation, Mr Kacper Pierzynowski,​ Sweden's Trade Commissioner to Thailand and Country Manager, Business Sweden Thailand​(incl.
