Market Outlook: Malaysia

His Excellency Niklas Wiberg is a seasoned Swedish diplomat with over 25 years of experience at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He currently serves as Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia, a post he assumed since 19 August 2024. Ambassador Wiberg presented his credentials to the King of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim on 21 October 2024.

Prior to arriving in Malaysia, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Swedish Embassy in Rome. Ambassador Wiberg also held key diplomatic roles at the Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, the Swedish Embassy in Budapest, the Consulate General in Los Angeles and led Sweden’s humanitarian affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. His experience in diplomacy spans international security, development, counterterrorism, and regional affairs across the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.

Ambassador Wiberg holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Gothenburg and speaks English, Spanish, Italian and French.

Ludvig Hermansson has 10+ years of leadership positions across Africa, South and Southeast Asia, managing seven different offices at Business Sweden, including India, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
