The Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce have the pleasure to invite you to an informative session on the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.
This session aims to provide an overview on what implications and opportunities the FTA will bring to Swedish companies in the region. Additionally, this seminar will give companies a better understanding of the specific benefits, and how to take advantage of them, for trade in goods and services in key industries between EU and Singapore.
Background
On 19 October 2018, the European Union (EU) and Singapore signed the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA). As the first FTA signed between the EU and an ASEAN country, the agreement serves as a pathfinder to an eventual EU-ASEAN FTA that will increase trade and investments between the two regions. Once entered into force, the EUSFTA will provide EU and Singapore companies with more opportunities and preferential and improved market access for products and services across many sectors. Furthermore, the EUSFTA contains provisions relating to the elimination of non-tariff barriers, customs and trade facilitation, sustainable development, competition, public procurement and intellectual property.
