Did you hear that the northern lights, aurora borealis, made a rare appearance over Stockholm and other southern parts of Sweden this month? It is very rare to see these mythical lights so far south, and must have been a magical experience for onlookers. The norrsken phenomenon is born as the sun ejects charged particles into its upper atmosphere, creating what is called a solar wind. When this wind hits the Earth's upper atmosphere, northern lights are born. As we are slowly opening up our society, SwedCham is delighted to host five in-person events over the coming weeks. As max capacity is still limited, all of these events are filling up fast. If the event you would like to attend is fully booked, please send us an email on email@example.com and we will put you on the waiting list. We will contact you in case of any cancellations. Don't forget to join our pledge to double up on paternity leave in Singapore - open until International Women's Day 8 March 2022. For more information, visit 100perspectives.com.

|Employee expectations are changing!|
On Tuesday 8 March, we will have Cecilia Sandberg, Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Atlas Copco Group, as our guest for an in-person roundtable at Shangri-La. The focus will be on how employee expectations are shifting in the wake of the pandemic, and what businesses should do to respond and adjust to the phenomenon that a record number of professionals are leaving their jobs all around the world. A lack of work-life balance and declining job satisfaction are among the greatest factors contributing to mass employee departures which implies that employers need to start building a new, more dynamic relationship based on trust and empathy with their employees in order to attract and retain talent. Register for this event here.
