Dear Subscriber,

Scandinavia is currently experiencing a surge in tour and holiday activity bookings, particularly from Asian travelers. Could it be that, with extreme heat increasingly affecting the world, more people are seeking cooler destinations? If you are in search of a chill, Sweden certainly has you covered...

Since 1989, when the Torne River freezes over, a new is created every year in the small village of Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, in northern Sweden. The frozen river is transformed into stunning design and architecture - an ever-changing art project and the world’s first and largest hotel made entirely of snow and ice. Each year, the Icehotel is re-imagined with a brand new design, offering a truly unique hotel experience. The hotel features rooms made of ice, an ice bar, and ice art exhibitions. The Icehotel's bar also changes its design every year. The 2016 bar, seen in the photo above, was designed by Elin Julin, Marinus Vroom and Jens Thoms Ivarsson. The ice bar concept has even become an export, with similar bars now found in cities like London and Stockholm.

Why not plan your next holiday in Sweden?

Please find below the latest news from our business community.

Lisa & Anna
