For this #tbt we're digging through the history archives as we celebrate 100 years since our launch in the Italian market.   Since 1924, we've been improving the lives of millions of people in Italy with innovative home appliances that make every day life easier. Looking back at our history, it was our acquisition of the Zanussi brand in 1984 that truly accelerated our growth, giving us a substantial R&D and manufacturing footprint that we still have today. Innovation continues to lead the way at Electrolux Group in Italy through our global R&D centers, automated factories and Centers of Excellence. Porcia, for example, is home to our Innovation Factory which serves as our global hub for innovation within products and manufacturing and the Susegana factory is one of our most automated production sites in the world. Congratulations to the Italian team. Here's to the next 100!   Pictured: Images from an old head sales office in Milan, a subsidiary in Rome and old advertisements.     #tbt #italy #shapelivingforthebetter

We’ve once again been named one of Europe’s Climate Leaders by the Financial Times for our work to cut greenhouse gas emissions. We’ve climbed 100 places on the FT’s list since last year making us the highest ranked home appliance manufacturer.      By the end of 2023, we had reduced our absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 33%, reduced our scope 3 emissions by 28% compared to 2021 and also switched to low global warming gases in 97% of our products with refrigerants. We were also recently awarded an A score for our work to tackle climate change by the global nonprofit CDP.     We continue to work every day toward our goal to reduce 97% of carbon emissions in operations by 2030 and net-zero emissions throughout the value chain by 2050. It feels good to be recognized for our sustainability efforts along the way. Did you know that you can find washing machine cycles designed specifically for your down outerwear or pet hair or kids clothes via a mobile app? With connectivity, the possibilities are endless. Connecting consumers with their appliances is a big focus here at Electrolux Group and was the topic of the day as our colleagues Yunyi Huang,  Alina Astapovich and Kristina Kondrashevich took to the stage at a recent Women In Tech Sweden event in Stockholm. They spend their days building IoT solutions for our connected appliances and shared the work we're doing to bring seamless experiences to the connected home, helping to make life simpler for the consumer.  If you're curious to know more, check out the event recording here: https://lnkd.in/dhMtswyJ This is the 6th year we've been proud partners of Women in Tech Sweden. Women working in the tech field are still underrepresented and showing up to support this event and talk with women interested in a career in tech, is just one way we hope to change that balance. Thanks to everyone from Electrolux Group who showed up to help make a difference.     Watch this space for more to come about the connected home.    #womenintech #WITSWE2024 #careers #connectivity #connectedhome #IoT

Check out our new, award-winning air fryers. Staying true to our goal of making healthy and sustainable eating the preferred choice by 2030, this new generation of air fryers can help consumers cook their food with up to 90% less fat and up to 50% fewer calories*, in a faster and more energy-efficient way that doesn’t compromise on the taste.    The compact size of the air fryer, designed to fit in even a small kitchen in the modern home, also means fewer raw materials are used to produce it and allows us to be more efficient with our logistics.   The range is also designed with a multicultural perspective in mind, giving users the opportunity to explore new recipes and cooking techniques offered on the user interface. We're proud to add that the range recently received two prestigious iF Design Awards in both the product design and user interface categories.    Known as Electrolux 600 and 700 Air Fryers/AEG 6000 and 7000 Air Fryers in Europe and Electrolux UltimateTaste 300 and 500 Air Fryers in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, the range was launched earlier this month. It will be launched in North America as Frigidaire 5.3 Qt Air Fryer in September this year.     *Compared to deep-frying French fries. Analysis done by accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025:2017)

With our very first furnace powered entirely by clean energy now installed at our factory in Adelaide, Australia, we've taken another step to increase the proportion of renewable energy used in our operations from 60% globally in 2023. The Adelaide factory produces approximately 350,000 ovens every year. Reaching temperatures of up to 900oC, the new furnace is a key part of the appliance enameling process. Also, its overall performance reduces energy consumption by approximately 70% (compared with the plant's previous gas-powered furnace). General Manager of Operations at the plant Phillip Saloniklis explains: “This project continues our commitment to seek renewable energy alternatives in our factories. The furnace investment complements the installation of over 8,000 solar panels that provide energy to this Zero Waste to Landfill* certified facility." #sustainability #australia #renewableenergy #operations *less than 1% of waste is sent to landfill, certified by a third party.
