This year’s summit, held in Madrid, revolves around the theme “Women: Energizing Economies of the Future”.     ABB and Niedax Group to form a Joint Venture to Meet Growing Demand for Cable Tray Systems in North America Get set for the future of cable management solutions! ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation, and Niedax Group, a leading supplier of cable management systems, have entered into an agreement to create a new 50/50 joint venture. The collaboration aims to integrate the North American cable tray businesses of ABB’s Installation Products Division and Niedax Group, delivering advanced solutions and services across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Key Highlights: 1️⃣ Strengths Integration: The expertise and strength of both companies, enables us to deliver a complete solution offering that enhances customer value. 2️⃣ Expanding Manufacturing Capabilities: The joint venture will expand North American cable tray manufacturing capabilities, addressing the evolving needs of our customers. 3️⃣ Collaboration for Innovation: We’re accelerating collaboration and product development to pioneer future-ready cable management solutions. 4️⃣ Employee Transition: We are working to ensure a smooth transition for more than 200 employees who will be part of the new organization.     Sustainability spotlight: ABB’s innovative solution for grid stability in the Faroe Islands As the Faroe Islands continue in their ambitious goal to generate 100% green electricity by 2030, and phase out fossil-fuelled plants, it raises the question: how do they maintain stability during this transition? The answer: ABB Synchronous Condensers (SCs). By providing inertia to keep the grid in balance, this technology plays a viral role in the Faroe Island’s sustainability journey. The latest SC will be deployed on the island of Borðoy where it will reinforce the local electricity supply for around 5,000 people.     A new, energy-efficient ABB factory in Belgium is set to save more than 6,700 tons of carbon emissions every year. The facility, located in Evergem near Ghent, utilizes energy optimization, new equipment and a photovoltaic plant to achieve annual operational energy savings of over 9,400 MWh. Part of ABB's Mission to Zero™ initiative, the Evergem site aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption while providing customers with decarbonization solutions. Today, Ailke Heidemann and Julia Richter from ABB’s corporate strategy team partnered with the St. Gallen Symposium for a cross-generational dialogue with approximately 200 students.
