Yesterday, SwedCham welcomed esteemed guests, Sweden's Ambassador to #Vietnam, @Ann Måwe, and Sweden's Trade Commissioner to Vietnam, David Lidén, to our business community. They graced our quarterly Market Outlook series, a collaborative effort with Business Sweden, to give us their perspectives on Vietnam's promising landscape. With growth rates hovering around 6% in the forecast for 2024, Vietnam is poised to lead #ASEAN as the fastest-growing economy this year. The robust and long standing diplomatic ties between Sweden and Vietnam pave the way for Swedish businesses to capitalise on burgeoning opportunities across pivotal sectors like manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, and healthcare. Of the 40 attendees, representing 22 companies present at the session, the majority already had operations underway in Vietnam. This robust turnout underscores the significance of Swedish businesses and their dedication to tapping into the potential of this dynamic Southeast Asian tiger market. Thank you to both speakers and participants for joining, and to SEB for graciously providing the venue. #sweden #southeastasia #growth Embassy of Sweden, Singapore Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam Business Sweden Asia-Pacific Emil Akander Rickard Levin Phung Banh

A big THANK YOU to all the participants, representing various points in the supply chain, who joined us for our recent workshop on exploring how to drive sustainability across supply chains. 🌍 The workshop, facilitated by Allan Boyd at Celemi - Making Change Happen, focused on the challenges and successes of integrating sustainability practices across supply chains, and how collaboration is key to find solutions. From sharing inspiring success stories to addressing common barriers to action in a business simulation setting, each conversation in the group sparked new ideas and perspectives. Our hope is that participants can take these insights back to their organisations, enriching discussions and driving positive change. For this topic, one thing is clear: Collaboration beats competition - every time. #sustainability #supplychains #sweden #singapore Ola Källqvist Anna Linden (nee Falenius) Jonatan Holmqvist Radhika Chavan Håkan Nilsson Rachel Vanessa Tan Gaurav Julka Zayra Romero Jiménez Torbjorn Karlsson Zofia Chlapowski Shawn Ang Tobias Engblom Vivian Zeng Desmond Goh(吴倧樑) Jia Yi Ng Anna Hedve Landgren (She/Her/Hers)

Last week, SwedCham's People & Culture committee kicked off the 3rd edition of its Female Mentorship Program, which will run over the coming 6 months, with Agneta Olsson and Sandra Appelqvist in the lead. Some years back, SwedCham's #HR community initiated a crucial dialogue on fortifying #femaleleadership in #Southeastasia. Despite being a priority for years within many organizations, progress has been slow. Female representation in top leadership roles in most Swedish companies based in Singapore remains modest, and the pace of change is gradual. In response, we established a mentorship program, now on its third year running, aiming to bolster emerging female leaders in a cross-industry context. SwedCham’s vision for the mentorship program: 1. Create a solid cross-industry network and a professional sounding board for female rising stars in SwedCham’s business community 2. Raise the bar for #femaleleadershipdevelopment in Singapore 3. Promote Swedish leadership values and strengthen ties between Swedish companies in Singapore. This year, we have participants from the following member companies: Alfa Laval Envac Electrolux Professional Group Ericsson Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence IKEA Mentor Media Supply Chain Solutions, member of Elanders Group SKF Group Tetra Pak Volvo Group. Huge thank you to our mentors: Muralidharan Angadu, Volvo Construction Equipment Hina Jindal, Electrolux Professional Mia Engblom, Alfa Laval Alison Bertholon, Volvo Buses. We're thrilled to embark on a new cohort journey and extend our best wishes to all participating mentors and mentees for a rewarding and enriching learning journey ahead.
