Sweden's Trade Commissioner to China & Vice President East Asia and Pacific at Business Sweden - The Swedish Trade & Invest Council
Joakim Abeleen is heading up Business Sweden’s activities in the East Asia and
Pacific region, with the aim of helping Swedish companies to grow global
sales and international companies to invest and expand in Sweden. He leads
an organisation of 80 people across eight offices in the region. Mr Abeleen is also
Sweden’s Trade and Invest Commissioner to China.
Mr Abeleen has a background as Management Consultant, and has previously
been leading the Strategy practice of a Big Four in Denmark as well as been
part of the firm’s global Customer & Operations team. He has published
several white papers around customers, strategy and digitalisation.
He has also worked with international trade, with nine years in the A.P.
Møller Mærsk Group, driving logistics and supply chain optimisation for a
number of global retailers.
Throughout his career Mr Abeleen has lived and worked in Asia Pacific for more
than ten years, where he has been based in Beijing, Shenzhen, Singapore
and Chengdu.
Mr Abeleen holds a Master of Science in Industrial Management and
Engineering, and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
