Volvo launches upgraded heavy-duty trucks
Volvo’s range of heavy-duty trucks – the Volvo FH, FM and FMX models – are being upgraded with new technologies and the latest in camera monitoring for even better efficiency, safety and productivity for demanding businesses.
The upgrades on the Volvo FH, FM and FMX trucks are the latest in Volvo Trucks’ continuous engineering efforts to optimize its trucks. The Volvo FH Electric – recently chosen as International Truck of the Year 2024 – becomes even more energy-efficient and the upgraded Volvo FH16 will be the most powerful truck in the industry with an all-new efficient 780 hp engine for the toughest assignments. Regardless of which powertrain the customer chooses – electric, gas or diesel – all variants of Volvo's heavy-duty trucks will benefit from a high level of efficiency, safety and driving experience. “The heavy-duty Volvo trucks are icons in the industry, and with the latest upgrades, I am confident that we will further strengthen our position in this segment,” comments Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “Our skilled engineers have done a tremendous job in fine-tuning our heavy-duty trucks for reduced CO2 emissions, improved safety and even better productivity and customer satisfaction.” |

Heart on Wheels drive-through with Polestar
SwedCham member Polestar will be hosting Heart on Wheels 2024, a drive-through donation event, on 2-3 March for the second year running. The two-day charity donation drive is held in partnership with charity organisation Food From The Heart and aims to raise 25,000 food items ($150,000 in food donations) to support the residents in the Lengkok Bahru area.

Enterprise Singapore: GIA Stockholm Acceleration Program
Enterprise SG is launching the second edition of its Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Stockholm Acceleration Program in partnership with Swedish digital accelerator Epicenter. Built on the knowledge of what start-ups and scale-ups need, the GIA Acceleration Programme to Stockholm aims to help tech companies based in Singapore scale up their business in Sweden and the larger Nordic region to explore innovation and business opportunities. The program is jointly supported by Enterprise SG and Swedish government agencies Business Sweden and Vinnova.
Participating companies can expect to achieve the following: - Clarity to reach business goals and how to solve growth limiters
- A strong growth strategy based on the scaleup’s ambitions
- Coaching with a serial scaleup entrepreneur customised to individual needs
- Access to customers, networks of investors, corporates and service providers
- Peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, pitching, co-working space.

NTU: New Executive MSc in Sustainability Management
During the Sweden Indo-Pacific Business Summit in December, Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) launched a new Executive Master of Science in Sustainability Management programme to equip executives and professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools to respond to sustainability challenges and implement sustainable practices in organisations as Singapore transitions to a green economy. In addition, a Letter of Intent was signed with the Stockholm School of Economics during this event, solidifying collaboration around academia, research and exchange for this executive program.
Designed for working professionals, this part-time Master’s programme offers stackable learning pathways through NTU’s FlexiMasters programme. This approach not only accommodates participants' schedules but also contributes to the academic requirements of the Executive MSc. Moreover, eligible participants can benefit from a SkillsFuture subsidy of up to 90% for the FlexiMasters programme, thus reducing the overall cost of the Executive MSc programme.
