Senior Manager, New Ventures at EDB Singapore

Mr Daryl Png serves as a Senior Venture Manager of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) within the New Ventures division, working with large corporates in creating and growing new global businesses out of Singapore. He works closely with corporates to build new ventures through concept validation sprints, developing new business models, finding the right product-market fit and coming up with investible business plans. He is also part of the venture-building team that launches initiatives and solutions to level up the corporate venturing ecosystem in Singapore.

Prior to joining EDB, Mr Png was the Product & Strategy Manager from OCBC Bank’s Fintech Innovation Group where he worked with various departments to develop innovatively transformation projects for the benefit of both customers and the Bank. He also spent some time as the Product Innovation Lead at AIG Singapore where he led the launch of several key initiatives in the consumer insurance space which included their telematics mobile app solution and personal cyber risk assessment tool that focused on rewarding users with safe behavior. Before joining the corporate world, Mr Png co-founded his own start-up, an online digital platform that helped customers book cars from small and medium-size car rental companies to major international players from over 150 countries.

Mr Png holds a Master of Business Administration from Singapore Management University and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Jorge is the Digital Initiatives Lead in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa Region for Electrolux. He leads multiple digital pilots including subscription projects within the region while supporting the Global IoT team to shape new services for Electrolux’s consumers.

Before devoting his time fully to his current role, Jorge was part of the Venture building team, responsible for managing the leadership engagement and commercial model design. He has a background in business development, logistics and change management for digital transformation programs for the past 10 years.

Samantha Thian (Senior Sustainability Manager APAC & MEA at Electrolux)

Senior Sustainability Manager APAC & MEA at Electrolux

Samantha is currently the Senior Manager, Sustainability - APAC & MEA at Electrolux. Samantha has a background in procurement and environmental management for the past 5 years. At present, she is supporting Electrolux's Sustainability Commitment to become climate neutral across the value chain by 2050. Within the appliance as a service venture by Electrolux, she is helping drive sustainability initiatives such as reducing packaging, refurbishment and communicating the impact of circular solutions; helping consumers achieve a more sustainable lifestyle.

In parallel, Samantha sits on the Packaging Partnership Program in Singapore through her role as Deputy Sector Group Leader to support the industry transition towards the nationwide EPR by 2025. She is also part of the Climate Action Singapore Alliance 2022.

Ranga currently leads Business Development and M&A in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region for Electrolux. In prior roles, Ranga has led M&A transactions for Amcor Limited (global leader in rigid and flexible packaging) and Olam International (international food and agri-commodities company). Ranga is a seasoned M&A and business development professional having closed 23 M&A transactions globally, with a focus on emerging markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He has extensive experience in identifying, completing and integrating acquisitions across multiple industry sectors. Prior to Olam, Ranga held various roles in banking and in professional services.
Ranga has completed the Post Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian School of Business and is a Chartered Accountant. He is currently based in Singapore.
