Money is nothing but an economic tool, so why do we have such strong emotions around money?

In this webinar, Ms Andrea Kennedy, Certified Financial Planner & Financial Behaviour Specialist, will talk about the psychology of money. Why do we hesitate to invest? Why do we defer investment decisions to advisors (or to our significant other as is the case for many women)? Why do we overspend or over-save? Why do we have regret and shame around financial decisions? Why do we try to spend our way to happiness or compare ourselves to others? Why do we overspend to be a part of a group? Why is money the number one cause for divorce in the world?

Most behaviour is automatic and driven through subconscious motivations. Many financial decisions have more to do with our history and learned biases than with facts and data. This 40-minute discussion will cover how humans process information, react to fear/greed and explain how unique personal histories all affect our decisions around money. 20 minutes are left for conversation and questions.
