Event Details

Greater Bay Area, the major city cluster, currently equals to the 11th largest economy in the world. With its 11 cities, located in Southern China as well as the two Special Administrative Regions Hong Kong and Macao, the area is estimated to become the world's largest bay area and by far surpassing the Greater Tokyo Area, New York City and San Francisco Bay Area.


Introduced in 2016, the Chinese government are committed to drive the Greater Bay initiative and aims to strategically integrate the cities into a world-class city cluster which combines each cities' individual strengths. The goal is to increase the whole regions competitiveness and innovation-ability. With a large focus on hardware innovation, fast prototyping and advanced and high-end manufacturing there are interesting opportunities for Swedish companies especially within the automotive, ICT, life science sectors.

Johan Nylander is an award-winning author and freelancing China and Asia correspondent. He's frequently published by CNN, Forbes and Sweden's leading business daily Dagens Industri. He will share his knowledge about Chinese innovation and its startup scene, which also is summarised in his book titled "Shenzhen Superstars – How China's smartest city is challenging Silicon Valley".
