Mikkel Larsen (CEO, Climate Impact X)

Mikkel Larsen

CEO, Climate Impact X

Mr Mikkel Larsen is the CEO of Climate Impact X (CIX), Singapore's first voluntary carbon exchange, which aims to create a channel for finance into nature-based solutions.

Mr Larsen has been with DBS since 2012 and has held various positions within the bank. Prior to this, he worked for UBS in the Asia Pacific and Citigroup in London.

Mr Larsen holds a position as Adjunct Professor of Corporate Sustainability at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.

He has an MBA from London Business School as well as a Masters's Degree in Sustainability Studies from the University of Cambridge.

Ms Yulanda Chung joined DBS in 2017 and is currently Head of Sustainability of Institutional Banking Group. She leads the Bank’s responsible financing framework, advises on environmental and social issues pertaining to transactions, combining risk management expertise with business origination capabilities.

Ms Chung was previously Group Head of Sustainable Finance at Standard Chartered in London, where she established the bank’s sustainable lending and impact investment agenda.

Before joining the banking sector, she was an equity analyst for the mining and metals and building materials sectors at RobecoSAM in Zurich, Switzerland, where she was part of a pioneering team incorporating environmental and social factors into equity valuations.

She is a trustee at think tank TransitionZero, which provides financial analytics in the power and heavy industries to support decarbonisation and is a founding partner of the Al Gore-backed coalition Climate TRACE. She was formerly a board member at ASrIA, during her tenure the organisation was integrated into the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.

Ms Chung graduated with a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University.

Mr Helge Muenkel joined DBS in January 2022 as the new Group Chief Sustainability Officer, from ING, where he worked for 10 years and was most recently Head of Asia Pacific, Sustainable Finance and Global Capital Markets. In this role, he successfully grew the bank's regional business of sustainability-related advisory services and sustainable finance transactions across products. He was also part of ING’s global Sustainable Finance and Capital Markets management teams as well as the bank’s global Sustainable Finance Quality Board. Prior to ING, he spent more than 12 years in various roles at Deutsche Bank AG and UniCredit Group being based in different cities across Europe, the US and the Asia Pacific.

Mr Muenkel is a CFA charter holder, holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Munich University (major in Developing Economics) and a postgraduate degree in sustainability from Cambridge University
He chairs the DBS Sustainability Council, which comprises senior leaders across business and support units and is responsible for developing DBS’ overarching sustainability framework, setting key performance indicators and targets in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, and driving sustainability initiatives across the bank.
