The Road to Recovery in Southeast Asia

It would be an understatement to say that Southeast Asia has been hit hard by Covid-19. At the same time, markets have been hit differently. The Philippines, in particular, has been one of the hardest hit markets both in terms of COVID cases and in economic impact due to one of the longest and hardest lock-downs globally. Will the Philippines be able to recover, or will it be surpassed by markets that have been hit less hard by Covid-19 such as Vietnam?

Out of this uncertain situation, some trends developing before the outbreak will accelerate and others will undoubtedly lose speed in a new era characterized by transformation. Now is the time for Swedish companies to leverage the opportunities that will inevitably emerge from this shift and carefully traverse new challenges. In addressing Southeast Asia's position as a fast growing regional market, there is value and much to win in partnering up and positioning Sweden as a key recovery partner.

To support you and your teams in Southeast Asia and the Philippines, Team Sweden is organizing a webinar to share insights from two recent Business Sweden reports – one regional and one Philippines focused – on trends and effective strategies to leverage emerging business opportunities connected to the region's and the Philippines' road to recovery. Our keynote speaker, Mr. Krister Nilsson,​ State Secretary at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will be speaking about how the Swedish government continues to support Swedish businesses in the region and globally. There will be a moderated discussion among a few Swedish companies, highlighting their respective experiences amid the pandemic and plans going forward.
