Mr Jakob Ragnwaldh is a partner in Mannheimer Swartling’s Dispute Resolution practice group, focusing on international arbitration and investor-state disputes based in Singapore. In 2016-2020, he acted as the firm’s resident partner in Hong Kong.

Mr Ragnwaldh served for 12 years as a member of the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (2010-2021), the last six of which as Vice-Chair. In 2015-2016, he chaired the work of the SCC Rules Revision Committee, resulting in the current SCC Arbitration Rules. He is the co-author of the only English commentary on the SCC Arbitration Rules (Kluwer) and the former Chairperson of the Executive Board of the European Federation for Investment Law and Arbitration (EFILA). He is a Board member of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

Mr Ragnwaldh has represented clients in well over 100 arbitrations before arbitral tribunals both in Sweden and abroad, including arbitrations under the auspices of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (VIAC). He also regularly represents clients in ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Mr Ragnwaldh has acted in cases involving the application of many different laws, including Swedish, Russian, Chinese, Hong Kong, English, French, German, Swiss, Latvian, US, Ukrainian, Saudi, Estonian, Italian, Korean and Albanian law.

He represents clients in investment treaty arbitrations under applicable treaties and public international law and regularly advises clients on investment protection and international law matters. Mr Ragnwaldh frequently speaks at seminars and conferences in the field of international arbitration.
